September 2008: Jim Hartle is the 2009 recipient of the APS Einstein Prize, given biannually to recognize accomplishments in gravitational physics. Jim received the prize "for a broad range of fundamental contributions to relativistic stars, quantum fields in curved spacetime, and especially quantum cosmology."
