The nature of the ‘strange metal’ state in the high-temperature superconductors is an open question of fundamental importance. In this talk I will demonstrate how transport measurements in the strange metal state at very high magnetic fields can sharpen our appreciation of its anomalous metallic behavior and point to future directions for its understanding.
