Searching for dark matter with the LZ detector
Hugh Lippincott, UC Santa Barbara
The nature of dark matter is one of the biggest mysteries in physics today. In this talk, I’ll discuss design and intended operation of the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment, the flagship dark matter experiment in the US, which is currently in the commissioning phase. If there is time, I’ll also mention some new methods to look for dark matter that are the subject of active R&D.
