Xi Dong

Biography

Xi received his Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University and his B.S. in Mathematics and Physics from Tsinghua University. He was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University and a Member of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton. Since 2017, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Research

My research interests range from foundational questions about quantum gravity and quantum field theory to phenomenological aspects of particle physics and cosmology. I am currently exploring a connection between quantum entanglement and emergent spacetime, especially in the context of better understanding the holographic duality between string theory and quantum field theories.
