Title: Colliders, Higgs and the strong interaction
Abstract: The discovery of the Higgs boson has opened the door to the investigation of new fundamental interactions of nature unlike any studied before. After a reminder about how key features of the Higgs mechanism matter for the world around us, the talk will examine what we actually know about the Higgs sector of the Standard Model and what remains to be established. It will then explore the question of how we extract information from high-energy collisions and the associated quest to better understand critical strong-interaction dynamics across many orders of magnitude in space and time.
