Biography

I’m a postdoc working with Dr. Andrew Jayich on trapped ions. I'm passionate about tests of fundamental symmetries and precision laser spectroscopy. When I’m not in the lab having fun, I enjoy playing guitar and watching horror movies.
 

Research

I completed my graduate studies at Michigan State University with Dr. Jaideep Singh. I worked on a tabletop experiment (Ra EDM) that traps pear-shaped radium nuclei in order to measure an intrinsic, symmetry-violating property of atoms. This property is known as the permanent atomic electric dipole moment (EDM).

I'm performing my postdoctoral work with Dr. Andrew Jayich at UCSB. I work on several projects, including studies of scalable ion trap at cryogenic temperatures and atomic oven development. I am developing a molecular ion EDM experiment that will, among other things, explore the matter-antimatter imbalance in the universe.
